What is Left of May 68?





Debate night hosted at the Alliance Francaise de Sydney by Dr Elizabeth Rechniewski, senior lecturer at the University of Sydney, specialist in social and political history of post-war France.

Speakers:

- Paul Dwyer, director, dramaturg and specialist in Theatre and Performance studies

- Tom Morton, writer, journalist and broadcaster with Radio National

- Michelle Royer, specialist in French cinema and Feminist studies

This round table seeks to avoid both nostalgia and blame through a discussion on the mid-term and long-term effects of these events in various fields such as cinema, theatre, movements surrounding identity and political evolution in Eastern Europe.

The round table will be held in both English and French.

A documentary presenting historical footage will be screened at 3pm.
